I'm getting a Lian-Li PC-7 with a 120 hole cut into the top. So we have 2x 80mm in the front, 1x 80mm in the back, 1x 120 in the top. How should I set my fans? I was thinking have all the 80s pointing in and the 120 pointing out.

the 120mm on top definitely should be exhaust. since hot air rises and u have a big fan up there...it only makes sense :)

i haven't looked at the PC-7 but i like to put my intakes in the back because thats where most of your heat is generated (the vid card, cpu)

hope that helps...oh and a fanbus controller would help control the noise when u dont need the humongous airflow :p

The general method of intake/exhaust in an atx form factor case is to have the intakes in the front bottom, and the exhaust in the back top and possibly top.

The best way is to experiement. Perhaps you will find out that this configuration will work:
Remove 120mm fan but keep the 120mm hole on top. Lower voltage to front fans to minimal. Keep rear fan at max or medium high.

The problem that I have with 120mm fan on top is that if it is too demanding (high cfm) it will take away from the airflow that should reach the cpu and exit the psu and rear fan.

Report back with your findings! every case is different ;p
