Fan setup help.

The case is a double decker like setup. The motherboard mounts horizonally on the top part of the case.

On the "first floor" of the case, the CD rom drives sit at the corner to the left with the 3.5 drives behind it. The power supply sits at the far right back corner.

This case is viewed in perspective and the drawing is crude. And I do not want any fans at the top side of the case (dust and debris reasons)

So far, I am thinking of setting an exhaust at the back of the case near the cpu and the I/O ports. The other fan will blow in to the cards.

The case dimensions are around 13in width (cd drives as front view), 15in deep, 17in height.

I guess you have your reasons for that particular design but wouldn't the heat from the drives rise to the motherboard/CPU and the expansion cards?
Those demensions are not that far off from Chenbro Net Series (Net Cube) which are 14 1/2" width, 17 3/4" height (from ground up including the casters) and 20 1/4" depth. There's a wall in the center of the case dividing the case in two "chambers" vertically. One side for the motherboard/expansion cards, another side for the P/S and the drives, which is great since the heat from one area wouldn't affect the other area all that much. You have to see the fan mounting areas to see/plan the options for any intake/exhaust fan placements. (Lets just say more than enough)

The lower level will have the power supply sucking heat out. And heat from the cd drives are minimal. Hard drives might affect it a little.

From what you said. I might place the two 120mm fans as exhaust in front of the cards and cpu.
