Fan running very fast and noisy

Just put together my system as follows: A8N-SLI Deluxe, Athlon 64 3000, Seagate 200 Gig SATA HDD, ATI x600 Pro PCI-E Video Card.
No problems at all except, 10 to 15 minutes after start up the fan starts to go faster and become very noisy and remains that way until shut down.
Any ideas? Is there any way to slow down the fan without jeapordising the cooling?

Thank you.

The fan is obviously controlled (probably by heat sink temperature within the Power Supply).

I have no idea what adjustments and or configuration options you have, but it sounds to me like you picked a noisy PSU for your system.

and, yes.... if you disable the fan if will not provide cooling anymore. It ain't pretty when a PSU biffs.

If it is intolerable, your only real solution is going to be a replacement with a quieter component. (Assuming the PSU has no adjustments by design)

I'm going to guess that it is not the PSU fan, but in fact the chipset fan. Check these forums and you'll see a ton of us have this same problem, and there are myriad solutions out there. I haven't decided what to do with mine yet.
