I have heard that the 8RDA+ doesn't like variable speed fans plugged into the mobo. I have a YS Tech variable speed fan on an SLK-800, and I just use an extra 4pin from the PSU. I would, however, like to monitor the fan speed (I want a quantitative number to associate with different configurations, etc.). So this leads to 3 questions: 1) anyone verify the variable speed fan issue with the 8RDA+, 2) is there a way to power the fan from the PSU but still "connect" it to the mobo for fan speed monitoring, and 3) is there any issue with NOT pluggin a CPU fan into the mobo (any kind of mobo cpu-fan monitoring issue of concern, for example)?
Thanks.
Thanks.
