Fan Problem

My computer is about 2 months old. Everything seemed to be running fine, and all of a sudden my fans started slowing down, to where they made alot of noise. Im using Asus Utility and it shows my CPU fan at 3000rpm and my chipset fan going as low as 3000 rpm. I think it normally runs at 6000. It was flucuating up and down also. In the course of 1 minute it went as low as 3k and as high as 5k about 15 times...

What could be causing this? Everythign else seems to be running fine so i dont think its the powersupply. Could it be the fan?

Funny thing is when I bought my board, I called and asked for a replacement fan just in case. Now, I have an ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe. The fan is held in by 2 black pins w/ springs. I press them in and it seems to come loose, but.... It feels like its glued on or something. Is there thermal paste for chipset fans too?

If anyone has an ASUS A8n SLI Deluxe and knows how to replace the fan PLEASE let me know. When i tried removing it, it would not budge, and i did not want to force it. Any ideas?
