The cooling fan on my visiontek Ti 4200 made about one revolution stuttered and then stopped and will not turn anymore. I pushed it a few times to see if i could jump start it but only one time did it try and spin another revo. Obviously this seems to be a mechanical problem. Any suggestions on how to fix it or am I going to have to try and replace the fan? I'm probably not going to do any gaming on this card (for obvious age reasons) I will probably just run my xbox through it and wait to get a new vid card in the furture. Will it over heat too bad while not playing any games without a fan or am i headed towards certain meltdown? Thanks

p.s any links to a good GPU temp monitoring program would be appreciated

Most of the time it is just a case of dry bearings. You could take it off and place a drop or two of oil into the shaft area and it will get it going again. If you peel of the sticker on the rear of the fan, you can get to the shaft directly to oil it. Just don't overdo the oil so as to not sling it around when the fan starts. If this doesn't work buy a new fan, oterwise you will probably fry your videocard. Fans are cheap. An Iceberq cooler works well on the Ti4200.
