Okay, heres the deal

A while ago i took apart my fan to clean it out, there was 2 fans took them both out a cleaned them. After putting them back in and booting up my system, it nevers turns off (the fan)
usually before i cleaned it out (removed it) the fan would quiet down but now it doesn't it just stays on forever until i turn off the computer. anyone know how to fix it,

i have a emachines t5026 and upgraded video card to GeForce 5500 FX.. best PCI i could find
except for radeon 9250

Did you plug them back into the right places?

It is possible that the systems thermal managment is getting confused because you mixed up a CPU and Case fan and now when the CPU gets hot it spins the case fan faster. The case fan doesnt do a good job cooling the CPU but it sure keeps the case nice and cool so the motherboard tries to slow down the Case fan. Unfortunately because they are switched, this just makes the CPU get even hotter. Eventually they will find an equalibrium but it will often be louder than if they were plugged into the right places.

If the fan normally throttles down under low use then I am assuming it has a temp sensor (most OEM systems use temp sensors on their case fans now - Dell, HP, Gateway, etc) - makes them very quiet. You probably damaged the temp sensor on the fan (it's usually a small blob protruding from the motor case into the air flow.

Some systems have a temp sensor somewhere else in the case and the mobo itself controls the speed of the fan. Perhaps you accidently unplugged the sensor from the mobo when working in there.

Hope this helps...
