Fan Placement ?

I am using an Antec case which has a place for two 80mm fans in front and two in back. I will be using the two Antec fans that came with the case which can be thermostaticly controlled and two Panaflo H1A's two wire with no control. My question is which should be in the front and which should be in the rear of the case for best heat control?

one antec one panaflo up near the PSU for exhaust, one of each again for intake. balanced airflow is usually the best although some advocate mroe air intake than exhaust to ensure all the intake air passes through dust filter first. if theyre balanced very little dust will form around airholes in the case anyway.

personally I wouldnt bother with the "thermostaticly controlled" bit although if your PSU is a antec truepower stick the antec fans on the fan-only wire, i think that makes them the same as a 7v mod (maybe 5v?) and increases when the psu (not cpu!) gets hot. 4 low rpm case fans should be ample anyway, and slowing panaflo L1A seems almost pointless 🙂

Thats basically my setup also, although the fans are cheap evercool's and ys-tech.

edit: noticed theyre H1A and not L1A, still same suggestion though as I'd assume the antec fans would be noisier. note you might well be fine with just the two panaflo, one at each end.

my case stays quite cool with one front 80mm intake, a 60mm out (in the back beside the pci slots) and the psu fan

really probably dont even need the 60, but ive got the thing in a cabinet so a side fan is a waste
