Fan on MSI GF4 MX440 dying.

The fan on my MSI GF4 MX440 VTP is starting to go out i think. It has recently gotten very loud and not consistent sounding. Will this card be ok without a fan at its stock settings? I rarely play games, so the card isn't incredibly stressed and I dont want to buy a new card. My case temps are about 28c with good airflow. Is there another very quiet fan I should replace this with or should I consider a Zalman HP-80a passive cooler.

Thanks,
Brian

You might try putting one or two drops of oil in the bearing to get you by until you find a new fan. Usually there is a sticker covering the hole. Make sure to use oil (like 80w-90 gear oil) and not a solvant like WD-40. An old Pentium heatsink might give you a good replacement fan, if you have an old computer laying around.
