Fan Mounts

Can anyone explain how these works and the installation process? I wouldnt mind another fan in my case (side fan).

Thanks

I want to add more fans to my computer but dont have room. i have seen something called a fan mount (it seemed like a bunch of circles with 4 corners (i presume for screws)), that people but on the side of their case (inside) and put a fan on it.

Here are some places that sell fans and fan accessories. Browse them a bit until you can find a link to what you're talking about. As it is, I couldnt hazard a guess.

http://www.jab-tech.com
http://www.svc.com
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com
http://www.nexfan.com
http://www.xoxide.com
http://www.frozencpu.com
http://www.computergate.com

But if you're talking about these, then they are fan grills to keep fingers and/or wires out of the fan blades. to mount a fan, you cut the proper size hole in your case, drill 4 holes for screws, and put the screws thru the grill holes, the screw holes in the case, and screw them into the mounting holes in the fan. Or you can use rubber pins instead of the standard fan screws for noise reduction.

What do you mean by "don't have room"? Is there actually a lack of space for the fan, or are all the current fan mounts (typically one below the PSU and one in the bottom front) used up?

If all the fan mounts are used up, there's nothing you can do unless you want to cut metal, but you can use stuff like PCI slot fans.

You could if you didn't much care how well it works. Most computer doors have patches of grillwork on them that you could glue a fan behind.
