Fan monitoring on the ABIT

I have an 80mm case fan plugged into the fan 3 mobo slot of an ABIT KT7-RAID. It spins fine when on, but for some reason it doesn't show rpm in the hardware monitoring software that came with the board. Any suggestions?

There isn't any monitoring hardware for fan 3, it's simply a power connector.
