fan mod is done (for one side)

EDIT: It all started with this thread. It was then followed by this thread. In that last thread, it gives a kind of walk-through for the soldering, if any are interested.

I still have some sleeving to do, as well as do the plug right, on both sides. And mount the male side to the fan module. But it's working... Much thanks to Galvanized Yankee for getting me the info required to order pins, shells, and tools for custom-made fan cables.

Thanks for the kudos but Zepper was a real asset for me learning where and how to order
the pins, shells and rachet crimper. The Nidec fans were his find also.

Not that your early work was bad, but everytime you post more pics, the work looks better.

I modded my Sunbeam to a stock L-L bay cover and down sized the LEDs to 3mm from 5mm. Works for me.

I wouldn't mind modding it so that it was dim blue when 0-7v, and bright blue when 7.1-12v. That would be nice. Thanks for the link.

Looks good.

One thing I would have probably done is use only one 18ga black wire from the controller to the DB9-Female connector and then bus all the ground pins of the connector together with a bare piece of solid wire - just to make a more compact wire bundle.
