fan manufacturers ending in "idec"

i found an old fan lying on my shelf, and i hook it up and it actually pushes quite a bit of air, so i was wondering if i could find more like it....the label is messed up and the large text is cut off, although it ends in "idec" and there are only one or two more letters in front of that....that would fit...

I thought you were joking when I first read it..
By the way, Nidec fans are some of the best quality fans out there although they are also generally more expensive as well..

heh, yeah a fun geussing game, i've never heard of them before, and the label's messed up....it pumps out what feels to be at least double the air as my other 80mm fan i have sitting on top of it, this would have greatly helped me when i originaly set up my case, i didn't know anything about cooling and thought all 80's were the same, now i have 5 laying on my desk, deciding where i should put 'em.muahaha but i just physicaly feel the airflow...just to help me decide where to put 'em

generally more expensive? how much over a 'regular' fan? and do you know any resellers? i went to their website, i'll go have another look, check out the distributies...thanks for all your help so far!

just because i'm niave and i *just* got into cooling my computer and all this fan blowhole hsf junk.....people laugh at me....hehe, well, ya know, it is a sorta lame question, but i had no clue!! honestly

we run 2 cages of dual Nidec 120mm fans in our Compaq 7000 server machines. they keep the 4 Xeons nice and cool. loud as hell, and dont stick yer finger in em. the plastic is very dense and hard as nails =)
if thy didn't make that much noise i would consider using them in my home rigs...but then i also use a Delta38 soooooo, knock loud when ya want to come in my room 😛

Nidec is mostly OEM, hardly anyone sells single units, only box loads. Which one you looking for specificly i'll try and find it for you.
Nidec are great fans I put them above Panaflo, Sanyo Denki, AddA and so on.. in my books.

If I remember correctly I bought a Nidec squirrel cage fan at Radioshack a few (3?) years ago. I'll see if I can find it when I get off work.

BATGEEK - heh, yeah, i figured that out the hard way, i was messing around and my finger slipped into it while it was on...heh, needless to say there was some blood...yeah i just want one or two units, the 80's are rated at 43cfm.....i wanna replace two fans i junked out of some old PSU's that only do (rated)27cfm and i really dont' mind much about moise, i play my music well above the volume of almost any fan you can give me(yes, the delta has a home on my athlon system)

i think i need a few 80's and a few 92's...i found a place with cheap panaflo 120's so i'm going to pick up some of those(i dont' think i even have room for more than one, but that's what my chainsaw is for 😀

thanks gizzo
<edit> and someone above mentioned being more expensive, how much more expensive would the run?</edit>

There not that expensive, there rare to find. 80's run about 12 bucks 92's 15 there pricing is near the pricing of Sanyo Denki a little on the upper end.
