fan; large to small plug adapter??

The fans in my case have the large 4pin power plug, and I would like to find an adapter to go from those to the smaller power plug that is found on motherboards. I want to be able to control the voltage to the fan with the motherboard.

Does anybody know a site that sells such an adapter?

thanks
jason

I'm not sure it's entirely *safe* to do that, given that most fans with 4-pin molex plugs draw a significant amount of current.

You want a 3pin to 4pin adaptor. You can get them at any semi-decent computer store for a couple bucks....Microcenter, Best Buy, etc.

www.svc.com has 3 to 4 pin adapters I think they cost like a dollar. I daisy chain MANY powerful fans with 4 pin connectors onto a 3 pin connector on my fan speed controller its fine as long as the the controller can take it. Just get a controller that can take upto 18-20 watts per channel and u'll be fine.
