Fan is really loud when playing games

I have a Dimension 4550 2.66 Ghz computer that is making really loud noises when playing games. The fan is already kind of loud to begin with, but the second I start to play games, the fan goes crazy. It spins really fast and loud, and hot air would start to come out. If I exit from the game right after loading it, the fan does not slow down, it keeps spinning at high speed. Even when I try restarting the computer, it would still be spinning like crazy, and the only way for me to get it back to normal speed is to shutdown and turn the computer back on. Is this something normal?

The fan u have may be a fan that adjusts its speed based on your systems temperature. When you play a game, your system heats up and will cause the fan to spin faster. Shutting down you system will cool down your computer, so when u turn it back on, the fan speed will go to its normal speed.

That could be a possibiliy. I'm not 100% sure what type of fans Dell uses, so I could be wrong.

That is what I believe too, but it's weird though... When I load the game, it starts to spin really fast. The second after loading the game, I exit from it, and the fan would still spin fast. Wouldn't the fan know when to slow down? But it keeps spinning fast unless I shutdown the computer.

You seem kinda unhappy with your fan even when it is not spinning loudly, so maybe its time for a new one. Here's a quiet fan Most cases support 80mm fans, so this should be good for you. Plus at newegg you can get any size u want, so I'm sure u can find something there.

Yes my fan is loud.
Dell fans are connected to another exhaust piece, and it can't be disconnected.
Am I able to replace Dell fans?
