Fan Holder + Golden Gate (Another way to kill sound!) ?

I saw that you can buy a bracket that holds a fan above the heatsink. I'm assumming that these fans holders (look like the ones that come with the fin like zalman) can hold 80mm fan.

Would these brackets/fan combo cool the heatsink properly or would it be too far away to be effective?

Also what if I got a weak 60mm and had a medium 80mm in this bracket would that suffice or what? Work with me people! 🙂
