Fan Headers on motherborad

Normally how many fan header are there on a mb (abit kt7 or any similar). If you plan to put extra fans is it better form them to go through the mb or directly through PS.

The Abit KT7 has 4 fan headers. And most motherboards will only monitor one or two fan headers, so it really doesn't change anything if you plug it in the motherboard or the power supply.

If the fans are hi cfm (move alot of air) you should plug them into the power supply. Motherboards are only set up to handle wussy fans.
