Fan going so slow

hi, i have a coolermaster hyper6 on my x2. the fan is going at 1648 rpms right now and i was trying to find out a way to make it faster. fan is rated at 3000 max so i want to get it faster. any tips.

LOL you got pWn3d by your fan.....

Perhaps your BIOS is adjusting the fan speed based on CPU temp? You may surf through teh BIOS and see if you can find an option to disable that., or get an external fan controller.

so i got pwn eh. lol dont know what it is but yeah. well i have a hardcanno with my case but i just was trying to find another way so i didnt have to cut off all the ties and shiet. took me forever to make it nice. ill try and look for something in the bios to disable today. thanks

Do you mean PWM? PWM is a pulse width modulator, which controls how fast the fan spins...

However, do you have "Cool n quiet" running? That is most likely it.

pwm pwn whatever one it is. i think its pwm cause it has to do with the fan.

cool and quiet is disabled. i guess ill just have to open up the wires and connect it to my hardcanno.

Your motherboard is controlling the fan speed based on temperature. There will be a setting in the BIOS for it.

It's not the same as Cool'n'Quiet, that just adjusts the CPU voltage and frequency, but does not do anything to the fan.

and this is all found in bios???

i gotta look but i dont think i have seen that yet. i have been in and out of the bios when i was overclocking and dont remember. let you know if i find it

Should be under....ummmm.....hardware monitor or something of similiar wording.😉

Yeah its under hardware monitor in power i think. There will be Q-fan and if your BIOS is set to default then it will be disabled. So enable it and set the cpu target temp low, but not too low or else if it cant reach that temp it will just restart...
