Hej!

I got the following setup :

Case : Antec Sonata II
Moterhboard : Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R
Memmory : Corsair TWIN2X 6400C4 DDR2, 2048MB CL4
CPU : Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
PowerSuply : Hyper TypeR 480W

I do not really see any point in buyin a Intel i5 750 right now, the diffrence is not that big. Thereby I have decided to clock my Q6600.

To do this i need to upgrade the orginal fan, and I have looked at the following :

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2

or

Xigmatek HDT-S1283

What fan should I choose? Maby there is some other fans that do a better jobb?

BestRegards

Xigmatek already ships with the fan. It is also superior to the Freezer 7 Pro.

However, if you don't want to worry about the Rebate, and want one of the best coolers that you can reuse later, just spend a little more for the Mugen 2 $35

Your less powerful alternative to the Mugen 2 is $5 cheaper Cooler Master 212 Plus.

3 posts in 4 years! Wow :) *lurk* heheheh.

Russian covered it pretty well, I can also vouch for the Cooler Master being a great cheap cooler which is far better than stock, of course the Mugen is a little better still.

i'm running a ocz vendetta on a q6700 @ 3.4... and it's $8 ar at zipzoomfly for the next couple days... can't beat the performance for that price, but the xigma should be a better performer...

I can´t find the Mugen II here http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm ?

Will these fit on Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R?

I have the Scythe Mugen II for my i7-975 and the Xigmatek Dark Knight for my QX6700 in a Gigabyte P45-UD3R. I can tell you that the Mugen is much bigger than the Dark Knight so make sure it will fit your case. I have the Antec 900 case and it barely fit. I have my QX6700 OCed to 3360mhz (420 x 8) and it's running @ 20-23c idle and 42-46c with Prime95.

Ya, that is because Frosty hasn't tested Mugen 2 yet.

Here is another Review of Mugen 2 vs other supercoolers

I believe it will fit on your board, although the cooler will block the first Mem Slot for taller DDR memory such as Dominators or OCZ Reapers, etc.

Please consult this thread for pictures of what the Mugen 2 looks like fitted on mobos and maybe you'll find someone with your board on it:
