Can anyone recommend me one of these panels. The I currently have is about to expire I think. The lights flicker and the speed of the fans fluxuate on a normal basis. I really only need a fan controller but I wouldn?t mind having a SD card reader either. If anyone could point out a few it would be appreciated. Thanks.

svc.com carries a good range of multifunction panels. The ones that have card readers seem to be limited in other ways like having only two fan control channels.

You might consider the Coolermaster Aerogate 3 from svc.com and the YE Data Combo floppy/flash card reader from my listing here (click on the link below). That way you don't have to end up using an extra bay.

Do not, under any cirucmstances get the Thermaltake Hardcano 13. The thing is sexy looking, but absolutely horrible. Probably the worst purchase I've ever made in the computing world. As such, I can't even recommend getting any Thermaltake Hardcano products.

My official opinion on the subject, is get two seperate devices...

First, it uses batteries for the internal setup. Which is fine, to a point, because when the batterieis die, the thing goes haywire, and you have to set it up again. and again.

I used it for about 3 -5 months, and all of the media card readers stopped working. And I changed the drivers, changed the batteries, uninstalled & reinstalled the device, nothing. After that, it would stay in alarm mode for some unknown reason.

The only thing that retained the functionality was the temp monitoring. So I have a $70 temp monitor now...

If I were you, I'd get a Rheobus for controlling fans, and an USB card reader all-in-one type thing for reading flash cards. Just my $.02.

I have a couple Sunbeam Rheobus fan controllers. They are basic, cheap, and work very well. One of them contols 7 or 8 fans in one of my cases (doubled-up the connectors). If you need a card reader as well then you already have some recommendations.

I prefer the SilverStone products, I love the SilverStone 3.5" card reader I have, has USB, firewire, audio etc... but no fan control built in..

of course the SilverStone fan controller is a great choice as well.. I know they have 3.5" fan controller, not sure about 5.25"

Vantec makes a great 5'25" fan controller though as well..
