Fan Controller For ASUS mobos?

Doesn't ASUS mobos have some QFan feature which adjusts fan speeds accordingly?

I was wondering does that actually work well? Or would a fan controller provide better cooling?

Or hell, would speedfan do the same thing?

Q-Fan is pretty simple, you set a target temperature and when the CPU goes above that the fan spins at full speed. It's just that the lowest setting is 51C (at least on my A8N-SLI) which is a little high for my taste. So I use Speedfan instead and it works great.

So if I used a Thermaltake 120mm Smart Case Fan, it would lower and/or raise the fan's RPMs automatically?

I don't want to use their crappy thermal probe or the PCI slot thingie.

Depends which fan header you use. On my board the CPU and front case fans can be adjusted, but the rear case fan header is fixed at 12V.
