My first system build was simple, one fan - no monitoring. Now I'm doing a p4 system and the case has two 120m fans. The mb has auxfan1, auxfan2 and sysfan1. (the p4 and chipset fan have their own connectors already connected to mb)
So, the pwr supply has a 3 pin fan signal connector (blue-blk). The two case fans have the standard white 4-pin pwr connector (and a pass-thru to devices), and a single thin yellow wire going to a 3-pin connector. I'm guessing the pwr supply fan signal connector (blue-blk) should hook to the "sysfan1" on mb, and the case two fans, thin yellow single, goes to the auxfan1 and auxfan2 (even though they are only a sinsle wire???), and then the white standard fan pwr just go to a pwr supply cable (only ones that will fit).
Am I connecting the pwr supply fan signal wires (blue-blk) right by using the mb sysfan1? And why does a single thin yellow wire from the fan do, since its plugged into a 3-pin mb connector?
