fan choice and Thermalright Ultra 120Extreme?

You can always modify the fan so that you can use the clips.

If you've got a Dremel motor tool (or any other motor tool), you can grind away the posts on the fan so that the fan clips could hook onto the fan housing. Alternatively, you can either file away the posts with a file, or use a saw to cut the posts off.

Hope that helps!

I'm using Yates and they work just fine. Mine are the open flange ones. I read somewhere that you can just take pliers and snap the the flanges off and they work just fine. Dremel works too, so it's up to you. 🙂

Good Luck

If you use dual fans, you can just use 3 thin rubberbands.

ROFLROFL i love this idea. ITS SO GHETTO, but SO EFFICIENT!!

Make the 2 fans Yate Loons. I promise you, they will perform better then silentX.

there extremely cheap, but very effective. I only use yates now.

You can find them at jab-tech.com or petrastechshop.com

Here's the idea actually put into action:
Thermaltake Ultra120 Dual-Fans with Rubberbands
BTW, those fans are soon to no longer be on there. I'm moving out with a roommate to San Diego and I do not believe he wants my computer to glow blue, so all of the blue LED fans are coming out and are being replaced by Yate Loon 70CFMs.

thanks guys...I hoped not to hassle with dremeling but I knew this was an option and the not the first time I have done this with a YL

The open corner fans are higher speed one and it has been suggested by Quoc at Petratech shop that the motor on some may be different then the low speed YL(ie 47cfm,28dba)

there is low speed open corner that is $6...it 45cfm 24 dba

I am considering a few of these ..wonder how noise is different vs 47cfm/28dba...at least YL are more honest with noise
