Fan Brackets Effective?

I am wondering if these are effective. The brackets attach to existing slot screws, and and position a fan to direct air onto the motherboard, or over other slots. But would such a fan disrupt airflow in the case? Right now I am concerned about cooling a northbridge chip, and it would be easier that dissembling the motherboard to replace the heat sink, and preferable to hot gluing a fan or wedging screws from a fan into the fins of the heatsink. So - the fan would be directing air the distance from the PCI bracket screws to the motherboard.

Another issue for me if I use this to cool the northbridge is that I will have a 120mm case fan directing air just to the left of it and overlapping, and another 140mm fan directing air out the top of the case.

These make my zip ties, rubber bands, and wire ties look downright primitive. Although, my sytem does the same thing, and cost me nothing. 😎
