Fan and/or HSF suggestions

I've had a tbird 1.3ghz OCed to 1.5ghz for a few years. It has a gladiator heatsink and a very loud delta fan. I remember when I first started using it, the temps would range from 48 - 54C. now it ranges from 52-57C. I'm not sure why.

Anyways, I recently upgraded my computer and gave this one to a friend.
He had two complaints
1. It would reboot a few times a week for no reason. He maily uses it for internet explorer so not much heavy usage.
2. He complains the fan is too loud.

I lowered the clock down to 1.333ghz and lowered the voltage and it seems to be more stable now, but it still idles at around 50C. I told him I can switch to a different fan and it would be more quiet, but I still am concerned about the heat. I think I am using a 38cfm delta fan now, it sounds like a hair dryer.

I remember the heatsink I got is pretty good, and I'm thinking the only way to get a quieter fan is to get a slower one.

Any suggestions for a quieter fan or even a different heatsink?
 
Panaflo fans have a good noise:cfm ratio or get a vantec stealth if you want to be near silent.

OR

Just get a giant HS like the SP-97 or Thermaltake one and don't even put a fan on it.
 
The Speeze/Spire/Fanner Falcon Rock II Here is excellent for the money just make sure of height clearances. The sides are tapered so it has no problem fitting to most socket A mobos. Or the Whisper Rock II if money is tight, but it clips to only one nub on the socket and the clip is STRONG! So be careful when mounting.

how do those compare with the gladiator and my 60mm 38cfm delta?

I'd like to get similar.
I'm guessing that there isnt anyway to get a 60mm fan that can perform as well as my delta without the noise and I prob will need to use an 80mm fan.

Should I get an 80mm fan and some sorta of adapter to mount it onto my (60mm) gladiator?
or should I just replace the fan with heatsink?

If I just replace the fan, I'd look with something with similar CFM.
if I replace my Heatsink and fan, I'd want to know how it compares with what I currently have since I need the overal heat dissapation to be similar.

get a 2 liter of soda, drink it, break out an exacto, a hot glue gun, and a 120mm fan. clean the heatsink and get rid of the dust. check the thermal paste to make sure its got good contact, then make an adapter. undervolt the fan and he'll be happy. and WHY on earth is he running internet explorer??? tell him, erm FORCE him to get firefox and use that instead. you'll probably have to run adaware to get rid of that crap that they got for using ie.
