Fan Air Pattern???

HI
I have 4 Panaflo 92mm L1A fans.
They are rated at 42.7 cfm at 27 db.

Just out of curiosity, I hooked them up outside of my pc to see how quiet they were. I could not hear them and the wife who has very sensitive hearing could not hear them!!! 😀
As I stood in from of them,, they didn't seem to be moving much air.
I took 4 80mm fans and hooked them up and they seemed to MOVE A HECK OF A LOT MORE AIR THEN THE PANAFLOS'S!!!!!
Is there a difference in the pattern of the air the fans make as they move the air around????
If the 80's have a more narrow air pattern, woud it be a better choice to use them in s case as the air flow is more direct???
Thanks

It depends. If you have the fans aiming at something, then yes. If you just plan on cycling air through your case, then it doesn't matter, so long as the cool air comes in and the hot air goes out.

also, make sure you have them running at 12v and not 5v or 7v 🙂 i did that with my 120mm once and i was like "wow this thing is quiet!" but it was 5v.. i put it to 12 and the thing was super loud haha

SIGH.......................
GEEZE,, YOU CAN TELL I AM A ROOKIE HERE!!!! 😱
The 80mm fans already were wired with plugs and running on 12 volts...
The Panaflo's,,,,,,,, still have bare leads.
Sooooooo,, I wrap the leads of the 4 fans,,, stick them in the black and red openings of the power leads...............
NICE AND QUIET!!!!
Then, I get the ole trusty Radio Shack digital volt meter out.
Oh well,,, any fan will run quiet at 5 volts!!! LOLOL
Gonna do it all over again tomorrow and see what happens!!!
Thanks
Pghpooh 😱
