I am using a zalman passive heatsink on the northbridge of my asus a7n8x deluxe. It's an older revision board (1.04) and won't go past 184 fsb and remain stable. I have pc3200 corsair xms, so i know the ram isn't the problem. Would adding a fan to the zalman passive cooler help my fsb situation or is it just my board? Also, i cannot seem to find a quiet 40mm fan anywhere, would i be better of buying a vantec iceberq copper chipset cooler? Thanks in advance for any assistance rendered...

It could be lack of voltage causing stability problems.
What could could do, is buy a zalman fan bracket, and attach any fan you want to it, and it`ll cool the heatsink for you.

I used a 45mm to replace the fan on my GF2 in my work comp. and it's pretty quiet. It's a Sunon KD1245PFB2 H, 8CFM I won't quote dBa because the Digi-Key catalog where I'm getting these from has a typo and I can't find the ratings on Sunon's site. (I think it's 29dBa) The PFB3 H should be quieter but lower CFM.

Digi-Key Part# 259-1207

I bet you could get that on there, or 7 volt the 40mm fan.

Just my $.02
