Famous Chicago restaurant buys the Bartman Ball

Funny.

Snippet:
The owners of Harry Caray's Restaurant bought the baseball that was deflected by a fan during the Cubs' playoff loss to Florida-- a move they say will help bring closure to one of the most agonizing losses in the team's history.

The ball was bought for $106,600 at auction early Friday, the winning bid coming from Grant DePorter, managing partner of Harry Caray's Restaurant group, which owns three Chicago-area locations and also runs a catering business.

"When we heard this thing was going to be auctioned off, we felt like it was going to be a trophy that was going to rubbed in Cubs fans' noses," DePorter said. "We weren't about to let it get into the hands of a Marlins fan."

Crazy....even crazier was that he thought a Marlins fan would put up $106,600 for that ball. I also heard they were going to destroy it to hopefully destroy the curse on my local radio station this morning. That money would've done more good this Christmas being donated to a charity now it's just for a ball they are gonna destroy.

What a waste..... :/
