I was thinking about getting this as a gift, but after looking at the choices I am so confused. You have FTM 2005 Standard, Deluxe, and Collectors, with no real indication about what is different between each of them. I go to their website and they don't even mention deluxe and collectors, and give you a link to buy standard online.
I read some mixed reviews on Amazon, but it was mostly people complaining about the upgrade not adding much. No problem since this is a first time buy. But what I am confused about is the online searching. It says it uses ancestry.com. I go there, and they give you 14 days free and then its $200 a year to search online. But their site says nothing about Family Tree Maker. Does buying the program give you free access to the ancestry website??
