Last night I asked a girl to go out on Saturday. She responded (with seemingly realistic enthusiasm) "That sounds great, but I have to go to a family reunion this weekend." I responded "well, maybe we can do something next weekend" and she said "OK, just give me a call". Have I been blown off ? I could probably verify if she actually has a reuninon this weekend, but I would feel kinda weird. Usually I am a good jusge of character, but honestly I could tell if I was getting blown off or not. Any ideas ?

It could get back to her. I am just too infatuated to think clearly about this. I can always figure out peoples true meanings by just talking face to face. I get so nervous around her that I forget to pay attention like that. The oinly way to verify is to ask a mutual friend, who is probably better friends with her than me.

Just give her a call like she asked and see if anything can be set up for the wekend after the reunion. Relax, and try not to read too deeply into things. :)

It could be legit, it is that time of year. Just call her and ask her out for next weekend and see what she says, dont give up yet

If she's blowing you off, and you find out early, you haven't gained that much.

If she's not blowing you off, and it gets around to her that you don't take her at her word, you've lost a lot.

Just believe her, unless you get reasons not to. You'll be happier in the long run with this approach.
