the simpsons just isn't funny anymore to me, it had a good run, longest ever i believe.
family guy has so many 80s references that everyone in the ~30 y/o range will get all the jokes.
my wife is in her 20's and she doesnt understand 1/2 the inside jokes from family guy but she
still enjoys the show cuz it's so off the wall
 
I'm just starting to get into watching the show. I don't know the characters names yet, but Sundays episode had me in stictches. When the baby with the football shaped head tripped his Dad - who went blind from eating nickels, I laughed my a$$ off. The baby is like "oooh, I almost didn't do it... it was so close, I though about it and then... bla bla bla" priceless.

that part was definietly good. The baby is Stewie and the dad is Peter.

I think I'm going to go by the DVD's from the earlier seasons to catch up on what I've been missing. This is definitely a well written show with plenty of laughs. I've been a die hard Simpsons fan, but this show is actually funnier.
