tonight's family guy has a scene where peter is up in the window with a rifle and cigarette and he shoots the mailbox and picks back up the cigarette and stretches with the rifle over his back...

what is this from/making fun of?

I haven't seen it but the description sounds like the scene out of Schindler's List where Goeth is sniping Jews from his balcony.

Family Guy has really been testing my tolerance lately, but I have to admit, I LMAO'ed when he 'sploded the mailbox. Don't know what the reference is, though.

edit - and the shower scene with Kathy Ireland was bloody priceless.

Yup, it was from Schindler's List

IMO the best line of that whole episode was at the very end when Peter asked Jesus which religion they should follow.

Jesus: "Well you know. . .six of one. . .they're all pretty much crap anyway."

Brian: "THANK-YOU!"
