As I watch old Family Guy episodes on my computer, I laugh so hard during every one. Why are they so funny?

I think it's the sheer randomness factor of the comedy. During the first couple of episodes it was so funny...they'd be talking about something and then it'd cut to a scene completely unrelated.

Case in point: Episode 1 where he gets sentenced to jail. The judge reads off the verdict and the entire family shouts, "Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!" And then it cuts to the Kool-Aid guy jumping through the wall shouting "Oh yeah!" I mean that's CLASSIC! And it's even funnier when he backs away slowly. Or in the same episode when she's talking about the new moat he put it..."Well how well does it work? The maillady asks." "Well it keeps that black knight at bay" and it cuts to a black knight scuttling around the outside of their moat! ROFL!

Stuff like that is pure classic. Who else liked the show? And why do you think you liked it?

Very few, and I do mean VERY few shows on regular television programming have made me laugh as hard as that show did. Probably the hardest that I've laughed was in a cut scene - it showed a movie theatre marquee that read "The Dyslexics Society Presents: FELCH"

It's things like that that 90% of the population wouldn't get that make this show so damn funny :D

or how abou that other episode where the Family Guy was talking about a party and then telling Alice? (the wife) that he doesnt get all messed up in parties, then it cuts to a scene where he's drunk and knocking over stuff repeating the dance song "dun dun dun dun dun, DUN" and in the end, he smashes through the wall with a car. LOL!

or how about that one New Years 2k episode, LOL, I loved that cartoon, way better than the simpsons. The simpsons is funny, but in MHO i thought the Family Guy was toooo funny. Little Steward was the SHIIIIZT. LOL, i loved that little baby. Yea, I would also like to know of any "channels" out there that are showing these "episodes" ;) LMK

danny~!

I felt as if the show was made for people in my age(23). Some of the things on that show you just wouldn't get if you were too old or too young. I like the one were Spiderman saves the husband(I think) and says, "Everybody gets one", and then he webslings away!

IMO..I always thought Family Guy was better than the Simpsons...at the time Family Guy came out the Simpsons was starting to lose it's touch. Family Guy was classic..it had everything one wanted ina show: Alcohol, Racism, Randomness, and a talking Dog and Baby.

BRING IT BACK!

"Homicide - Life on Sesame Street" still makes me giggle.

Just FYI, I've heard a RUMOR that Fox is planning on bringing the show back for a couple of episodes. That's all I've heard.

/edit DUH! Read the thread -- thanks Urinal Mint!

I called in to some radio show a couple weeks ago, where they had some "professional" movie/tv critic guy who was supposed to know everything about everything.
He sounded like his head wasn't half up his ass at least, and he told me that what Fox is bringing back this fall is just reruns from the first three seasons, kind of like the best 13 episodes or whatever.
Now, if that's true, I think that just stinks!
I want brand new ones!!

Also, there is a site on the net that is petitioning for a DVD boxed set release of the first three seasons of the Family Guy!! Do a search on Google, I signed up, so should you! :)

For quite some time it said on the Fox website that they would broadcast the remaining third season episodes mid-season and depending on the ratings the show would be continued or not...

BTW I just fired of an email to fox how much I liked the show and that they should bring it back!!
Why don't you do it too?

-Lois says "Oh my god! TWINS??"
-Doctor pulls out a map of europe with attack plans plotted on it "no...it's a....it's a map of europe!"
-Cut to scene of stewie with evil music

I thoought there was only one season? Didnt the show start like late 1999? (or was it 2000?) Anyways, FG always had me LMAO and left my family wondering what the hell was wrong with me. PM me if you know where I can find the episodes online. any episode is fine, since they were all hilarious. How big are these "cartoon" files for a 1/2 hour episode?

Episodes are around 30-35MB each... they are 20min long with the commercials edited out.

I almost pissed myself the first time I watched it on TV, and everyone wondered what the hell was wrong with me!
