13 or 14 year old girl ran away from home and is making her parents physically sick from all the worries, mental anguish, etc. The parents are strict but there's no history of abuse that I'm aware of.

This girl is one of those teens who is constantly either on the phone or on instant messenger. Once she came over to my house and actually installed IM on my computer's newly formatted drive while I was away (really pissed me off btw. damn girl couldn't even wait to get home to use IM on her own computer). I suspect that she was probably IM'ing some guy and am concerned that she may have been lured away by some pervert.

The parents haven't heard from this girl since she ran away 3 or 4 days ago. Info is sketchy. Anything could have happened.

I told them to file a missing person report. Any other suggestions?

Edit: She's 15 years old. She left a note saying she went to a friend's house...but never came home. Similar to previous incidents.

That sucks. I don't see why people do that to their parents unless it was physically necessary(abuse). Just because you didn't get to go to a Gangbang at a slumber party doesn't mean you should run away and put your parents through hell. I think a missing person's report is decent, go through her computer, and contact her friends. She's probably hiding out at someone's house.

Call your local police, post flyers around town with pictures of her on it, get on her computer and see if you can find any info about where she might have gone?

Yeah, I'm going to drop by her parents' place later tonight and see what I can glean from their computer. It would be nice if she had an auto-login for IM and I can try to track down her friends. I'm going to have to question her older brother too.

IF she comes home, we may have to resort to installing some type of keylogger.

Tell me about it. Although the parents are strict, they gave the kids whatever they wanted. Pretty cushy life. Clothes, TV, computer, xbox, high-speed internet, piano lessons, etc. Definitely not a deprived lifestyle.

The parents are so worried sick, they're not even thinking straight anymore.

i define it as tricking a girl into believing that you are really in love with her, get the noookie, then dumping her like a 2bit whore, then she = damadged

but if both just want nookie, fair game, no deception involved

Any girl that does that AND sleeps with a guy IS a 2bit whore. She was damaged BEFORE.

Any girl that decides to have a one-night-stand is by definition a "damaged 2bit whore"?

Just got some more info.

It seems like this is the 3rd time this kid has ran away. Previous times her parents had to beg her to come home. They had filed missing persons reports previously as well, most recently 2 weeks ago.
The mother literally had to beg the girl's friends just to get any info.

This time, it appears that she ran off because she was hurt by or didn't like the idea of her parents getting her a couple hours of weekly tutoring.

So at this point, they're not going to file any more missing person reports.

Fvcking spoiled brat.

I hate to point it out, but whomever she is with may do far worse than lovin' and dumpin' her...

I hope she comes home safely and soon.

They better file a report unless they want to do jail time. She is still a minor. If they can't control her they need to turn her over to the courts and have her listed as a ward of the court.

I'm so tired of your stupidity. Stop POSTING. They obviously care enough to not turn her over to the courts. I'd much rather the parents deal with her than the state. The state fvcks everyone up.

Are YOU blind, he said the parents are NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING. If the girl ends up dead who do you think the police will come after? Who do you think the media will look at first? etc...

How old are you, 12? Thats how things REALLY work in the adult world, try growing up a little.

Her parents are good people. They attend to all of her needs. The mother even put her career on hold for several years to spend more time with her and only recently went back to work. They find out their daughter is at risk of failing math so they hire her a tutor for 2-3 hours a week during the summer. Does that sound like bad parenting to you?

I think that is patently unfair to blame only the parents. This girl has free-will, independent thought, and a network to support her. You can't expect the parents to be able to control someone who refuses any authority. It simply isn't possible. She sounds like the typical problem child and the parents sound as if they love her. What sucks is that I'm sure they have some blame -- whether it be because she walked all over them, or because they didn't want to hurt her by imposing even stricter rules.

Whatever the case may be, it shouldn't matter that she's only 14. At that age your life is about 75% in your own hands, and most choices you make are your own. I find it sad that we base liability and maturity on age, when the best indicator is behavior. She's obviously making adult decisions(running away from her problems and her shelter), so I think she is the one to blame.

Look, this is a 14-year-old girl who has run away 3 times, and everybody knows about it. The courts are not wonderful places, but these parents do not appear to be able to control her, according to the little bit of information you've given us.

Don't call us stupid, please. We care.
