Contrary to what these other idiots are saing there are tons of things that are family oriented in Vegas, You have rollercoasters at at least 3 hotels, Lord knows how many shows without nudity (Cirque,Celine,Elton,Wayne Newton, Lance Burton) You have Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire State Park, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, I could go on and on.

The thing to keep in mind is that, while all of that is THERE, you can't get away from the "sinning". If your parents are okay with SEEING pornographic things, watching people gamble, etc - and just don't participate....then I agree completely with the above guy.

I actually fall into this catagory, end up going to Vegas at least twice a year on business for some time now. I don't gamble, don't watch the shows, etc - it's just not my thing.

BUT...if your parents are OFFENDED by it....well, seriously, Vegas is not for them.

I mean, SERIOUSLY.

As soon as you debark the plane, you walk into a wall of slot machines (as in, the terminal gates are all filled with gambling machines of various kinds in place of many groups of chairs so people can gamble while waiting for their flights). Walking through the gates to the terminal, you pass a number of posters for "sensual" and "sexy" shows. Once you get your car and are driving out of the airport, you start seeing the billboards for "adult" shows. Oh, and all the taxis also have little billboards sticking up off their trunks running similar ads.

All of the hotels you could stay at - once you get there - have more gambling machines in their main lobby. In fact, the casino hotels are...well, full-on casinoes. Slots, roulette, poker, etc - thousands and thousands of machines and tables.

Restaurants are the same - candy machine by the exit? Oh no, this is Vegas, SLOT machine by the exit.

etc.

Again - I'm not saying that's ALL there is. In fact, there is a LOT you can do that has nothing questionable about it. Cirque du Soleil, for example, has shows running in at least two casinos. Many, many performers have regular shows in Vegas (Elton John and Celine Dion perform nightly, for example). And there ARE a lot of interesting sights to see OUTSIDE the city.

BUT...keep in mind if your parents are the type offended by SEEING such "sinful" things going on....well, better invest in a pair of blinders for them you can take off at certain key places in the city, because 99.99% of Vegas is people gambling, sexing and drinking it up, totally going "sin"-crazy all over the place all around you.

FWIW, there are MUCH better vacation spots in the country.

^ you left out the naughty magazines/papers/flyers/cards being handed out or being sold and laying on the sidewalks/gutters/streets.

There's a lot to do in Vegas that's sinless. Just seeing what's inside all the hotels and the free shows can take up a day or two. I spent a few hours in the Venetian alone. Sure there's a bunch of sinful stuff, but as long as they're fine walking through a casino to see other things, then they should be in for a good time anyways.

Everytime I have friends that to goto Vegas just the see the sights, they end up going "crud, just lost $100 in a slot machine".

Perhaps you can book them a room, tell them which hotels got which shows, and other attractions like the coasters, the malls, food.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but you could book a room in the hotel that has the "buit-in" theme park. Also on Vegas Strip, there is this large arcade place, that has a very very large selection of games. I forgot the name tho, Its hard to miss, if you just walk up/down the Strip you'll run into it. Also, if you want to spice things up; book hotels in several diffrent places--maybe a night at the eifell(sp?) tower hotel, and onther at the roller coaster hotel.

Have fun in vegas--I went with my fam once, and it was a blast.

EDIT: Also--I suggest eating at the nice buffet's they have. We skipped out at the other restaurants, because you can find a chilli's anywhere--but vegas buffets are unique. My most favorite was at the luxor hotel, if I recall correctly, it was really good.

Yea, Circus Circus (near the northern end of the Strip, near the sky needle building) has a theme park called the Adventuredome. It was relatively nice, especially if, IIRC, you can still get a one-time-fee pass that lets you do as many rides and stay in there as long as you want.

"sky needle building" aka Stratosphere for those that exist here.

Vegas has gone family long time ago. You really have to look for sin to find it, aside from gambling.
It's a nice place to visit for families just to walk around and see the beautiful buildings inside and out. And you should drive over to Hoover dam, which is 30 minutes or so, if you haven't been there. I took my little sister there last year. She enjoyed it.
