That printer comes with a black ink cartridge as well (if I remember correctly). So, next time your Lexmark needs ink, buy the printer instead. :)

Lexmark are PURE crap... i tell customers straight out at work not to buy them because of the crappy feeders/high ink cost. In the two years i have been at staples, i have yet to sell a lexmark :p .. i have even had customers walk to the front of the store with a lexmark in hand and MAKE them go back and get something more ecomonical..

ink tanks are only half full from every manufacturer but epson when you buy the printer.

and lexmarks are better than epsons in my experience.

I am sorry, thats not true.. every HP and Canon that we sell have full ink tanks in them... the lexmarks don't even tell you how much ink is is in there... i am just not a big lexmark fan.

still though man, new cartridges, a new printer, new manual and CD for LESS than just the ink itself ???

It's like cell phone companies that give you free phones and charge for service,
or spring water places that give you a cheap fountain dispenser but charge for water deliveries

Basically the give you a product cheap or free
that requires either proprietary refills (a printer) or a contract for serfvice (cell phone/DISH)

and they have you hooked. I believe this is called a loss-leader in marketing

Like a heroin dealer that gives you your first few hits on the house, but knows you'll be back for more.

the old HP's came with half full cartiages.. any new printer we sell is going to have full cartiages though.. epson is not the only brand that has full tanks. For example the HP 6122 comes with the 78 color cartiage which has 19 ML of ink in it... we do offer the JUMBO tank for 55 dollars.. another example would be the canon s750 which has full 27 ml tanks... also my new hp photosmart 7150 came with two full cartiages..

EDIT:

HP link Heres the hp page that states the 7150 comes with a 17 ml cartiage when you intialy buy it... if you compare that to link on staples.com, you can see that they are exactly the same. 17 ml for each tank.

You can buy like 50 new printers for $50, take out the ink carts and sell the printers on ebay ("NEW! Opened but not used! Ink not included") for like $40 each

Razor blade business.

I also noticed that a replacement battery for my cordless drill is $43.00. I paid $50 for the entire freaking drill pack which came with a battery + charger + carrying case + drill bits + adapters + bit drivers!
