Do i heal when i sleep?

Where can i sleep for free, there was beds littered all over the landscape in oblivion, i cant find any here?

How do i pass time quickly? I guess a solution to the last question would help with this, its dark and everyone else is asleep but i wanna buy/sell stuff, so i need to pass time. Think oblivion had an option for this on the fly without the need for sleep, i dont remember.

On XBox, to pass time fast hit Back and you can pick how long to wait.

I rarely sleep, just eat dead rats and dirty water to heal.

I can "wait"? I'm 35 hours in and didn't know.

There are beds in the game. In homes they are normally inaccessible, but if you find them in tents or abandoned aras you can sleep. 1 hour buys you 100% healing. Something I only just found out is that if you're well rested (sleep a lot and it will say this), when you bring up stats > effects, it will say that you have a 10% XP bonus for being well rested. I wish I knew that 15 levels ago.

You get well rested by sleeping in a bed you own or pay for. The longer you sleep the longer it lasts. Gives 10% extra XP.

You can sleep in any bed or cot or rug on the floor so long as no enemies are around and the "Sleep" action text that comes up is green and not red.

And yes, you can wait in place the same way you could in Oblivion. Mine is set to the right thumbstick, but I may have changed that. 1-hour intervals up to 24 hours - just like sleeping.

None of that is in the manual, is it?

I got another question, do merchants run out of caps? The craterside supply girl wont give me any caps for my junk. Is there a limit to how much stuff i can sell every day?

Yes, they have a limit. You can see how much they are carrying on the buy/sell display. I also think the game will let you know if you're going to sell something for 0 caps because they don't have any money to pay you with.

And I'm looking at the instruction manual now (360), and I'm not seeing this stuff in there. It does have a note about selling items to someone who can't pay for it, though.

I suppose they just expect you to discover this stuff in-game.

Ive butchered the entire town of megaton, its so much easier to kill a while town than it was in oblivion thanks to that VATS aiming system... will the people i killed ever respawn? Or are they dead for good?

I have a save so it dosent matter too much, but i was gonna make a 2nd save for this character turned bad, to hunt the people of megaton when they respawn.

The NPCs are dead forever. They do not respawn, they can also commit suicide which sucks if you have to do business with them. For example, the water-facility guy in megaton, he buys spare metal from you. In my game, he disappeared suddenly. He probably accidentally fell off a ledge and killed himself. BTW, I saved the town and they gave me an apartment... pretty sweet.

I'm playing on the 360.

I noticed that when you load a game, in the bottom left is a "tip" or bit of info and on the right it just a list of stats for you char.

Yes, the amont they have is in the top right of the trade window.

Also, when you are selling or buying items it puts the amont of caps in the middle of the screen with an arrow pointing at who is getting them in a bright green color. When that total is more than they have, it turns a dark green and won't go past the total amont they have.

After 37 hours of play, yesterday, I see on one of the loading tips the comment about how playing on higher difficulty gives more experience. I didn't know that, so I should be able to level quicker now.

I'm playing the PC version, but he disappeared in my game too. Just stay in the water plant and don't go anywhere!
