Based on the responses in the D2D deal thread, it doesn't work on Steam. In addition, the D2D version uses an encrypted executable and is not compatible with a lot of mods.

Great deal, no doubt, but the mod issues makes it a pass for me. I'm hoping it's an upcoming Steam daily deal.

Screw that. I've had the game and add-ons for years and I am firmly of the opinion its mostly unplayable with lots of modding. At the very least you need to deck out your home a lot nicer with goodies and shit.

I bought mine from D2D four months ago and I can also confirm that it's working. I haven't yet used any of the larger mods that rely heavily on FOSE, but I tried out a couple smaller ones and the FOSE-related functions worked fine. Apparently they don't encrypt it anymore? I was surprised that this news hasn't spread around the mod community more than it has, because that's some serious misinformation to be giving people, especially when deals like this pop up (note, I'm not accusing anyone of purposely spreading misinformation; since apparently the exe was indeed encrypted at one time, it's definitely useful information to give people, but apparently it's no longer correct, and apparently there hasn't been more widespread testing by people affiliated with FOSE to confirm whether or not it's still encrypted)

Another note: even if you do end up getting a copy with an encrypted exe, you can still use mods, just not any that use FOSE.

Pulled this from post 28 here:

Bottom line looks like mods do work, and FOSE probably works too.
