If you're a PS3 gamer who has been jealous over the extended content offered to 360 owners, your wait is over. Today Bethesda announced that the past content, and all content moving forward, will be brought to the PS3. This is great news for PS3 owners who wanted to see everything the game has to offer.

"We have been working on implementing it for a while and look forward to bringing it to PS3 gamers via the PlayStation Network," Bethesda stated. "Operation: Anchorage will be released for PS3 in late June, followed by the release of The Pitt and Broken Steel 4-6 weeks apart. Release dates will be forthcoming."

There will also be two more content packs released across all platforms in the future.

* Point Lookout will be available in late June for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Point Lookout will be available on PS3 after the first three DLCs have been released.
* Mothership Zeta is scheduled for release in late July for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Mothership Zeta will be available on PS3 after Point Lookout.

If that wasn't enough, there will be two separate retail packages of content released for the 360 and PC, if buying the content digitally isn't your thing.

* Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #1 includes The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC on May 26.
* The Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #2 includes Broken Steel and Point Lookout on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC in August.

These retail packs "aren't possible" on the PS3, so the content will only be available through the PlayStation Store. You will be able to buy Fallout 3: Game of Year edition with all five content packs for $59.99 on both the PS3 and 360, and $49.99 for the PC. That package will be available in October.

Yes. It would be nice if they would release a retail kit with all 4 DLC packages at a discount in October alongside the GOTY edition.

Yeah, I think I'll pass if they think I'm going to pay for this.

Yay... I just bought Pitt and Broken Steel off of Windows Live, so no point in buying either box.

Nice to know that there's more DLC, but both don't sound that appealing. I'll pick up at least 1 to use up my remaining points.

Good news. I much prefer a retail box over buying DLC through GFWL with it's horrible points system.

As far as I'm concerned GFWL on the PC can DIAF. I tried uninstalling GFWL when Fallout 3 first installed it, and was a bit POed when I realized the game won't startup without it.

On a side note, Relic Entertainment couldn't have pissed me off more since they included GFWL and Steam as mandatory requirements for Dawn of War II. I own all the previous games from the original Dawn of War series.

I actually did buy Dawn of War II through Steam on their 25% off sale one weekend, and wrote it off to the fact that I still own the original Dawn of War games. A moment of weakness to be sure, as I love this series of games.

I did the same thing, lol. I ended up just disabling GFWL to fix crashes that were happening because of certain files it installed.

Other than that, it's just a pointless system. Let me pay for DLC with a CC and i'd consider using it. Or.. let me buy the exact points I need to purchase DLC. I refuse to buy anything through GFWL or Xbox Live because they don't offer either of those options.

M$ is a big company, they should have to deal with different currency's and whatnot, not pawn this "solution" off on us to have to deal with. It's great for them but not good for us at all.

I haven't played Fallout 3, but from the outside looking in, it looks like Bethesda is trying to milk Fallout players for all they're worth.

Seriously, 4 DLCs? Couldn't they've consolidated some of these packs. It almost seems like most of that content was in the original game, but the devs left some out to milk people for cash.

Eh.

FFS if you are going to have 4 DLCs make another damn expansion not this garbage. I'm happy with DLCs as free add-ons but this is getting ridiculous.

This.

Stop trying to hide these micro transaction crap as macro transaction to bilk the buyers.

Well, at least they let us know up front that they are going to release a GOTY edition, which includes all the downloadable content, in October. If one is patient, one can get a decent deal. Thankfully the copy protection is just Securom disc-check, so I will be able to resell my old copy to help fund my purchase of the new one without any hassles. If they price the retail boxes correctly, I might just buy those for ease of installation though.

I agree. Many F3 owners will end up buying all 4 DLC packs eventually (online, not via one of the retail expansions). And it will cost them close to the cost of buying the original game, if not more. That's pretty sad IMO and is a 100% "milking your customers" tactic.

At least give us one or two for free.. I can understand the big ones that take more than a couple of hours to complete costing $10 or so, but these two hour ones costing the same thing is ridiculous.

So, it seems I may have an unopened pc copy I could let go for a measly $25 + shipping.

Oopps, was that out loud ;)

I just deleted the GFWL folder and never had any problems with the game. I don't know if one of the more recent patches changes something though.

I actually went in and uninstalled GFWL through the Programs and Features Uninstall list under Vista. The game will give a dll error when you try and launch it.

I never have understood the point of GFWL, other than as a DRMed portal to extra money via DLC from within the game. I'm pretty sure the downloadable content could be delivered via a web portal transaction instead of through an in-game program, which is unwanted, unnecessary, useless (at least Steam has friends lists, your product key, etc...GFWL doesn't have any of this), and sucking up resources.

First time I had to deal with gwf was during the beta for.... Whatever the name of that war of the worlds like RTS game. Had to install it to do multiplayer and it was a pain in the ass then.

I was getting annoyed by the random GFWL popups in the game menus, and I seem to remember the program took up a fair amount of space given that it didn't do anything useful. I would be more interested in the DLCs if you could buy them at retail or as a normal web transaction instead of having to go through this stupid program. Bethesda has been hurting themselves by restricting the DLCs to GFWL.

Pfft, I'd have sympathy if Interplay had been more than an IP holder at this point, but honestly their situation is far more pathetic than even 3drealms. Interplay has barely produced anything in years, and they've basically sat on the fallout franchise, along with everything else. I'm glad the fallout franchise is finally in the hands of a company willing to capitalize on it. They'll never be as good as the originals, but neither would anything Interplay would make, if they made anything, at this point.

Plus, didn't Bethesda get the original Fallout team (or parts of it anyway) working on Fallout Vegas?
