What the hey? I thought it was close to RTM . . .

Got an e-mail from Amazon that it was delayed until October 28. Nooooooooooo, dang it.

Awwww, I have to wait a little bit longer to be disappointed by a mediocre game.

Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax Media company, announced today that its highly anticipated title, Fallout® 3, will be available on store shelves and online in North America on October 28, 2008 and in Europe on October 31, 2008.

Yeah, I thought that was the only date I'd seen as a release for this, so I don't know where this 'delay' thing is coming from.

Yeah! The date on that news was Aug. 20, 2008. I guess we can still call it a delay, but it is old news. From what I am seeing, the release date was around Oct. 8th or 9th.

Just knowing it is coming soon is enough for me. Couple weeks or even months is little considering I've been waiting years. So excited!

That's what I read yesterday. Hope it holds. I thought I was going to get it on PS3 since my comp is old, but after playing Resistance (my first console FPS), I'm not so sure anymore. My system ran Oblivion brilliantly though, even at 1680x1050, so I may just slip back to PC.

Not really delayed, Amazon's Oct 3 date wasn't really a promised ship date by Bethesda.

This is one ot get on the PC if yours is at least OK:
- I expect the PS3 and 360 to be 720p with a middling framerate, while a ~$160 video card should let a PC run smoother at 16x10 or 19x12.
- mods - there will be tons of them, to fix problems, improve the UI, and add free content.

Mods is the number one reason I'm getting it for PC, after what happened with Oblivion, I wouldn't even want to touch Fallout 3 on the consoles, Oblivion had so many great mods that let you tailor the experience to your liking, I assume Fallout 3 will also have an editor like Oblivion's so I expect modders to"de-consolize" the game (like they did with Oblivion) shortly after release and make it an awesome experience. (if it's not one from the get-go :p)

First game I ever pre-ordered. I'm slightly disappointed by this, though not surprised. Thanks for the heads up.
