Well I am going on a business trip to LA next weekend so I assume I'll be in an airport / plane for a while and I need a good single player RPG. I have been told fallout 2 is one of the greatest games of all time - but I havent had any luck finding it. I guess its about 900 years old - but I was interested in giving it a try.

If anyone knows if its freeware / has a copy they could upload to an FTP server of mine I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for any info - but based on the fact that interplay is pretty much dissapeared I doubt they hold any licensing issues on it anymore.

Sometimes GoGamer will offer the combo pack for <$10. I need to pick up another copy (what will happen if both of mine suddenly go missing?!?!)

I leave for LA on Thursday - but with the holiday I dont wnt to have a shipping problem not getting it in time. I checked EB games here in town and no luck.

GRR. Wonder if I'll just have to pay up for overnight shipping.

If you can't find Fallout 2 look for Planescape: Torment. It's another great RPG by Interplay.

I actually bought the Fallout 1 and 2 pack at Fry's for 4.99. I don't know if there's a Fry's in your area though.

bNeta, if you're going to LA, you can probably find a Fry's there if you don't have one in your area.

thanks for the advice - no Fry's here in central IL.

Need the game for plane ride out though too ;-) Guess I could just watch a DVD on the way out though.

Business will keep me pretty busy while I'm out there but I might be able to make time for it.

Bestbuy and Target didnt have em here in town.

I got my new copy of Fallout 2 on eBay for $1 plus $4 shipping. The shipping actually cost $4, too.

Found Fallout 1 - a success. Now to get it set up in compatibility mode for Windows 95 lol.

That should be sufficient for this trip - aparantly I need 100 hours to get this one done ... and unless i really want to Piss off American Funds I'll have to go to the meetings while I'm out there and not sit on my arse.

Thanks again guys!

It's been a while since I last installed Fallout 1, but I don't think compatibility mode is necessary, even on XP. I know Fallout 2 works fine in XP without needing the CM.
