Fallout 2: How do I do an aimed shot?

Back in the way back when machine I knew how to do this. I'm playing through the second one again.

I thought you just right click on the item box to cycle through the choices (single, burst, reload, etc.) and Aim was one of those choices. I know Fallout worked that way, I assume Fallout 2 did too, but I can't remember.

My guy has Fast Shot, does that negate the ability to used an aimed shot?

If so doesn't Fast Shot only apply to guns and thrown? Therefore I should be able to do an aimed shot with melee or fists? Still doesn't show up in the box at the bottom.

Or do I have to hold some click or something for it to work?

IIRC fast shot does negate your ability to used aimed shots, with a tradeoff that every normal shot costs one AP less.
