I read the system requirements and its says I'm okay. But I would like to get an opinion on how it will be for me to play this game.

AMD 64 4000+
1 GB Ram PC3200
EVGA 8600GT 256MB

playable?

I imagine it would work just fine, though another gig of ram would definitely help it out.

what everyone else said. RAM is absurdly cheap, there's no reason not to get another gig.

Get the demo.
Get more RAM.

With Windows XP there is no reason not to have 2 gigs.
With Vista you should have at least 4.

Your video card would be acceptable, but not great. I had the same thing when I was running Oblivion and it really wasnt good enough. Fallout 3 is a little heavier.
