The Obama crusade has already resulted in Colmes leaving Hannity's show after 12 years.

Now today Bill O'Reilly's reign of Republican Terror announces it is over in January.

This is a blessing.

Thank God for the Democrats finally able to take back the public airwaves from the religious kooks.

Now to after the big cheeses such as Rush and Murdock.

They are afreaid, very afraid of the Democrats invoking the Fairness Doctrine.

They are falling before the Dems even get in office and get a chance.

12-5-2008 Bill O'Reilly to end syndicated radio show

NEW YORK ? Fox News Channel said popular cable TV host Bill O'Reilly will step down as the host of his syndicated talk radio show early next year.

"The Radio Factor" ? which began in 2002 and runs on more than 400 radio stations, as well as satellite operator Sirius XM Radio Inc. ? will end in the first quarter of 2009, Fox said late Thursday.

In a statement, O'Reilly said the workload has become too much, adding, "I can no longer give both TV and radio the time they deserve."

He appeared to stumble through what I glimpsed of his show last night. Perhaps he?s having health problems.

But I bet new life would have suddenly been breathed into him had McCain gotten the nomination.

It is impossible to support the fairness doctrine. It is completey unenforceable and unconstitutional. With all the Network, Cable, Satelite and Internet media sources it would be impossible to try to enforce.

You are such a cry baby. I mean I hate conservative talk radio, I had an internship in Texas and my officemate always had that junk on. But good lord man tell us where the bad conservativeman touched you. OH BOOHOOO they are saying something I don't like lets get them kicked off talk radio. It's called freedom of speach, please refer to the constitution, or since that might be too complicated just tune to a different station.

As liberals we don't like conservatives telling us what to do with religion/abortion/etc. and here you are being so two-faced about a fundamental constitutional right of freedom of speech. Grow up and get over it.

That explains a lot.

I assisted in the University of Texas @ Dallas, Chemical program helping build a vacuum chamber for a STM (scanning tunneling microscope) to be able to see at the atomic level. Your arrogance is misplaced considering how clueless your posts are.

Dave doesn't know any better. Responding to his posts only makes it worse. Ignore him and he is meaningless.

The Fairness Doctrine is basically a scare tactic invented by these rightwing talkshow nutjobs to pump up their ratings. Along with Obama confiscating all their guns and redistributing their money.

I apologize for de-railing this into a personal attack thread. My main point was that whether or not you like the speaking points, trying to control talk radio is horribly unconstitutional.

You fail at understanding the fairness doctrine. It was only ever meant to apply to direct OTA mediums, i.e. those that require a broadcast license as the airwaves are considered a public resource. Cable, internet, sattelite, and print mediums do not apply.
