I think you mean Robert Rodriguez. Frank Miller wrote Sin City. Frank Miller is only listed as a director since Rodriguez insisted he get directorial credit since Rodriguez used the comic like a story board.

Of all the Games that get Cloned by every Developer Ad Nauseum, it's surprising no one has Cloned Max Payne. What really sets MP above other games is the great Storyline and Story Telling Style.

I liked the first one a lot, but for one reason or another never got the second. Might have to see about picking it up, seeing how I'm in a retro mood lately, for I"m replaying X-Com currently.

I picked up the Rockstar Pack, and while I'm revisiting GTA3 I'm playing X-COM more than anything :D

Edit: Also, some portions of FEAR reminded me a lot of the MP dream sequences.

I loved both games. I'm generally not a fan of 3rd person games, but the Max Payne games were masterpieces. I was mildly depressed when I finished MP2, because that was it... No more Max Payne :^(

I want a Max Payne 3 dammit.

I remember playing Max Payne 2 late at night in the dark after everyone in the house was asleep. It really added to the atmosphere and made a great game legendary :D

I just bought the Rockstar Package from steam for $30, and I have to say that Max Payne 1 and 2 are much better than I expected. Max Payne 2 is one of the best games I have played, and I am surprized it wasn't as big as some of the other games that came out around the same time. It reminds me of HL2, but it doesn't have the boring parts.

Max payne 1 was a really good game, i really enjoyed it, but the 2nd was was a bit of a letdown. I think it was the storyline, it was just weaker overall than the 1st game. I played through it once years ago and havent touched it again since then, i just dont remember anything notable or worth a 2nd playthrough.

If by halfway decent you mean COMPLETELY UNRELATED to the game. Marky Mark != Max Payne

I love her, but Mila Kunis != Mona Sax

all the casting is wrong, the story is random, the demon/angel thing is infuriating.

I think the Valkyrie thing (which is what I believe they are) relates to the whole drug being called Valkyr ( which the whole darned game is based on Norse mythology in various aspects ). They obviously couldn't include the weird dream sequences and such, which is most likely where some of the scenes that don't seem to match come from.

I understand the Valkyrie thing yea, but the whole angel/demon thing i've seen in the trailers makes no sense atm, now granted i haven't seen the movie and maybe somehow it all comes together, but as it seems now there is a movie with the name Max Payne, a game with the name Max Payne, and never the two shall meet.

The demon/angel theme was a big part of the original max Payne. Even the second, because Address Unknown was a big part of that game.

Heh, I'm playing MP1 right now since I just bought the Max Payne pack on sale for $7.50 off Steam last weekend. The graphics are very dated, but it's still fun. The bullet time moves get repetitive very quickly though, there's not much variety. The dream sequences are a little weird, but they didn't bother me too much. I'm hoping that the sequel adds a bit more depth to the bullet time ability.
