I just got a fake A. Lange and Sohne. INCREDIBLY beautiful - a $200 fake with all the markings and almost exact weight of the original. I'm not trying to pass it off as an original and won't even wear it that much, but I thought it was cool to add to my collection of watches. Replicas can have their own collectible value, you know. :)

Anybody have a quality fake? And before the thoughtpolice come and take me away, I'm not advocating copyright or trademark infringement - I could never afford an $80,000 watch, so I HARDLY think I'm part of a customer base that has been diverted by the availability of fakes. I just wanted to see what it looks like - $200 is nothing to me, really.

That's funny. A watch isn't just a timepiece, its probably the only real piece of jewelry a man wears.

Surfing from one porn site to another isn't so pressing I guess, and therefore, you could get off on donkey porn at 1om or 3am just the same. Some of us have a life and a job, though.

Yeah, I got this cool fake watch. I got one of the good fake watches because it was $100. This one even looks like an actual watch!

Nik, really?

Is it more accurate to a watch than the blow-up doll you have is to a real girl?

Seriously, if you're going to say something, at least do me the favor of putting enough time and effort into it to make it funny, would ya?

The first one was funny, the second one was weaksauce.

Once you've been around here a while, you'll learn what real funny is. He's not doing well today at all, which is odd. Most of the time he's not too shabby with insults.

You've gotta give him a little curve for the tryptophan (sp?).

it wasn't meant to be funny, my dear Nik. Rather, it was meant to highlight the irony of someone as pathetic as you, trying to to knock me down for posting that I was happy at getting a new watch. I come here to post something I found enjoyable and you throw in a sarcastic comment. How sad considering you've spent the past few yours of your precious (or I guess not?) life on a computer forum, and yet have the nerve to suggest that my post was unworthy. I can only imagine the wasted space you've contributed to ATOT's servers.

A bit of news for you, kiddo. You're that guy. That loser who spends more time on a computer than out in the real world. You are a loser. Have you not realized that? Look in a mirror, and wonder why a computer forum is more preferable to you than the real world.

Because its my only chance to ever own something that remotely looks like one of the beautiful watches I have ever seen in my life. I'm ot trying to fake out people, I just LOVE the looks and aesthetic - it has independant dual movements. Like two watches in one - I don't think there are any other brands that incorporate this in a way as elegatn as A. Lange, that's all.

if $200 is nothing to you how about you give it to charity instead of buying something that you will only look at once in a while?

You can secretely switch my moms and sisters watches and they wont be able to tell the difference. What does that say? I dunno

$200 will get you a grade B. Very nice replicas. $600-800 will get you the Grade A ones. All parts from grade-a replicas come from switzerland(that is if you don't get burned from a bad seller).
Grade A ones are almost completely indistinguishable from the real thing.

Here's my infamous rolex replica :)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound like some snotty wastrel. I meant that, compared to some hobbie, spending $200 on a watch isn't that much. And you are right, I should give to charity. But the answer is that I do! This year I've given $5000 so far to a charity that _I_ started that provides prosthetic devices to injured soldiers in Sri Lanka. I am also a regular contributing member to Feed the Children and a donor for Danny Thomas' St. Jude Hospital.

VirtualgamesO,

Nice rolex! Where did you get it and how much did you pay? PM me, please! I want a Rolex JUST like that - I don't like too many Rolexes since they are often too gaudy and goombah/mobster-style in my opinion.

I've learned that grades aren't delineated by letter but by number. A grade 1 is a swiss-made replica with, as you said, indistinguishable parts, resulting in an $800-1000 watch that noone will ever know is not the real thing. i'm not really after that, since again, I get these watches more to just collect.
I'd rate this watch I got as a Grade 3 (pure Japan-made), but the highest quality that comes out of Japan.
