"Fake/Unknown" drive shows up in My Computer, gone after reboot?

Tonight I noticed a unknown drive showing up in My Computer. It was in the Other section of My Computer. It was labeled Local Disk (Y: ) with a question mark on it.

It showed the size of the disk as 0.

When I rebooted I noticed it went away. I've run virus, etc... scanners and its showing that the computer is clean (scanned with MalwareBytes, SUPERAntiSpyware, and Avira).

This is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. There is a hidden recovery partition on this computer, but it doesn't show up under My Computer.

Is this something I should worry about, or just a random Windows error?

I haven't ran any tests on the drive. Any suggestions for which diagnostics to run?

I thought about checking Disk Management the minute I rebooted. 🙁

Could it be a hardware issue with the drive, or would this most likely be a virus/malware issue? It seems fine this morning, and I've noticed no problems with the computer other than the drive showing up last night when I turned on the computer. I rebooted a few times to see if it would return, and so far it hasn't.

I used to get this with an external Firewire drive. The fix was easy - hot unplug and plug.
