Fake Samsung Glaaxy s3 or s4 ?

Would a fake or clone Galaxy S3 or S4 work on Verizon or Sprint ? Or are they GSM phones ?

Just wondered if someone is selling a Verizon S4 if I still need to be wary of getting a fake ?

I thought most of those clones were gsm
