Chrysler is the biggest offender with their overly cheap fake plastic wood. They even have the audacity to actually print words onto the fake wood (well, you just blew your cover).

You pay $35k for a Jeep Grand Cherokee and you can't get REAL wood? Come on, stop being cheap bastards! Same for the Chrysler 300M. The sh!t is sooooooooooo overly fake that it ain't even funny. For that same $30k you pay for the 300M, you can get an ES300 or A4 with REAL wood.

I just felt like ranting about this, b/c I got a '01 Dodge Stratus Coupe/Sedan brochure in the mail yesterday. I was flipping through and sure enough; fake, plastic wood crap on the Stratus sedan. A $20k car shouldn't have wood on it in the first place!!

Now I know that Chrysler isn't the only one that does this crap, but they are the biggest players in this counterfeit market:p

Ok, off my soapbox :)

I love the brushed aluminum trim on BMWs. My uncle's 328i looks so sweet with that. Makes me think every car should have it.. :D

Why would you want wood anyways? It makes it look even cheaper, well not unless its the high-quality type of wood ;)

btw, I've noticed that its a puzzle just trying to get a brochure of any of the Benz cars. You guys go there and see how long it takes you to find the "send me a brochure" option ;)

BMW has some cool brochures, go check em out! I got some on the new 3-series sedans, one on the coupe, and a "Anatomy of BMW" (+50pages!!!).

Yea, I get it the same day my brother gets his 2001 M5, He wants to race back to Boston, of course I would demand a 1 state head start. That degree and Accounting has really come in handy with the right math.

Forget that. Do the Euro delivery option and race around the autobahn. That's where that M5 will really shine!

My family's Toyota Sienna has a real wood dash coated in about 2" of polyurithane, and it looks NICE and fits in. The only thing I don't like about that car (besides the fact that it's a mom-mobile) when I drive it is that the stereo is located below my knees (the steering wheel mounted controls don't control everything:().

A spoiled brat at my school drives a maroon Mercedes-Benz SLK320 with a wood dash. It looks REALLY out of place and ugly, especially when he has Eminem blaring at full volume.:Q

Was that standard on the van, or an aftermarket part?

They put plastic wood in cars to appease the Tree Huggers....like the one you voted for...;)

I like it when they advertise Leather Trim in the interior. The ads give you the impression of a leather interior and I'm sure some buyers are fooled.

Ha, just noticed this too in my friend's Chrysler Sebring. They used it for the center console, they should've put grey plastic just to match the interior.

Not that plastic would be an improvement, but it would look a lot better than really fake-looking wood.
