3 fake trees - (1) 6' and (2) 4'. We went with fake trees because we got the 6' footer (white) on sale for $25 3 years ago at walmart and its hard to make real pine trees white every year. The 6' footer is white and red themed, keeping in tradition with the main room, (1) 4' is a white tree with silver and black ornaments - matching the dining room while the green tree is in the den

right... because they are supposed to be green :)

Yeah, but white has a more wintery (and therefore, Christmas-y, feeling for us)

You need a 'both' option. We have a fake tree with all white lights in the living room and a real tree with multicolored lights in the den.

we have 2 fake trees. one is 6ft and one is 4.

i personally think cutting down a living tree just to have it in a zombie state living in the living room is wrong.

though i also think someone giving or getting flowers is wrong. shrug

Fake.. my mom has a really bad reaction to pine needles (as do I to a limited extent).

I miss our real tree :(

We buy ours from a Benedictine Abbey tree farm that's close to where we live, it's really no different than any other harvestable good, IMO.

We like real pine trees.
#1. We like the smell of it.
#2. We dont have to store it at the end of the season.

After witnessing a christmas tree fire in a neighbors house that resulted in the death of their 3 year old, I will always use fake. Their tree was not old either, this was only a couple of days after christmas.

If you want the smell you can always get a smaller pine tree and just not light it and have it in the same room as the fake, or just get the scent sprays/candles.

Meh. Without the Christmas tree sales, those Christmas tree farms which are 90% trees, are now paved over for a strip mall! Kinda makes cutting down trees seem the more nature friendly route to go.
